Snacks, The Kind Way

Have you heard of The Kind Diet by Alicia Silverstone? Mochi is one of the author’s all-time favorite snacks! It is one of her most popular go-to foods, especially when she’s in a rush and needs to get out the front door as quickly as possible.

With mochi, she doesn’t have to sacrifice taste or convenience and she knows that she will also be filling her body with a nutrient-dense food.  Silverstone loves her mochi baked, fried, in waffle form, as French toast, as dumplings in soups, as a “bun” for bean, veggie, or mushroom burgers – she definitely gets creative with recipes and methods.

In her words:

“If you’re looking for an easy, delicious snack that travels well, try mochi. It’s so great, and you can make it quickly at home.” – Alicia Silverstone, Superhero Snack: Mochi, The Kind Life Blog

Not only is Harvest Moon Mochi a delicious and nutritious, go-to snack but it is a kind lifestyle option. No animals lose their lives or are treated unfairly in order to benefit from ingredients. Our mochi uses simple, whole food, local ingredients that are all-natural, organic, and vegan.

Harvest Moon Mochi: Excellent Source of Nutrients

With today’s chaotic schedules and on-the go lifestyles, it isn’t always easy to make the healthiest snack or meal choice. In fact, it’s extremely easy to give up and make that fast food drive-thru pit stop and call it a day after a long work shift.

The joy about our mochi is that while you do get the convenience factor, you also receive a powerhouse of nutrition in every bite!

Between air and water pollution, stress from overextending ourselves to a myriad of family and work responsibilities, and not being able to allow our bodies and minds enough downtime to rest and rejuvenate properly, we are an over-stressed generation whose bodies are crying out for much-needed nutrients.

Brendan Brazier, a well-known vegan and Professional Ironman Triathlete, and author, said it best in his book, Thrive Foods:

“The highly refined foods that compose a large percentage of most North American’s diet don’t contain the nutritional components that would make them worthy of our consumption. These “foods” provide mass without sustenance. To make matters worse, they retain the calories. And calories without nutrients, also known as low nutrient-dense food, are the prime ingredients for a nutritional stress stew.”Brendan Brazier, Thrive Foods, pg. 12

When you choose Harvest Moon Mochi, you are packing those much-needed nutrients in to your body one flavorful mouthful at a time and helping to reduce the impact of stress on your body.

Not Vegan? Not a Problem

Although Harvest Moon Mochi is a vegan snack, you certainly do not have to live a vegan lifestyle to enjoy our products. Even if you personally never wish to give up animal products all together, it will only benefit you to incorporate vegan snacks and/or meals in to your diet occasionally. You may even find that adding a vegan meal once a day – or even once a week – gives you the satisfaction of choosing a more healthful option while still enjoying your own already-established diet plan.

By simply adding more vegetables to at least some of your meals and picking up your favorite flavor(s) of Harvest Moon Mochi, you will already be adapting to healthier eating habits!

Have you ever considered giving vegan snacks or meals a chance? Will you try them now?
