Mochi Waffle Cone

Do you love the popular waffle cone – but find that it doesn’t love you back? Perhaps the ingredients do a number on your digestive track? Or maybe you just don’t want to worry about your waistline expanding. Whatever your reasons for avoiding other waffle cones, you’ll be pleased to know that not only is our waffle cones tasty – but they’re healthy, too!

Use this method (see recipe below) to create the waffle you will mold in to a cone.

Mochi Waffle Cone Recipe

 

Ingredients Needed:

 

  • 1 package Harvest Moon Mochi (vanilla pecan or cinnamon raisin flavor)
  • 1 pint Rice Dream, Sorbet, or your favorite kind of flavor. 

 

Cooking Instructions:

 

  1. Follow your waffle cone makers operating instructions provided in the manual.
  2. Preheat Waffle Cone Maker
  3. Wait for Green Light to shine on Waffle cone maker
  4. Break or Cut Harvest Moon Mochi into small pieces.  You can break  into small  pieces while Mochi is still in the package.
  5. Using a spoon Add 2 ounces of Harvest Moon Mochi .  (We recommend vanilla pecan and cinnamon raisin flavors.)
  6. For Best results do not overfill the waffle cone maker.
  7. Bake 1 minute then slightly lift cover to check for proper color. 
  8. Cook an additional 20 to 40 seconds, if necessary
  9. Quickly remove the warm waffle cone from the waffle cone maker.
  10. Place onto a clean cloth towel
  11. Use the cloth to help lift and roll the waffle around the cone form (as seen in the picture).
  12. Hold the cone a few seconds to set its shape.
  13. Place in a cone holder, iced tea glass, or on a wire rack to cool

 

Serving Suggestions:

 

Fill the Mochi waffle cone with Rice Dream or Sorbet, Frozen Yogurt (not vegan) or Fresh berries and non-dairy whipped cream.

A Day In The Life Of Harvest Moon Mochi

We thought it would be fun to show you what a day of eating mochi might look like – get ready to drool! There are so many ways to add mochi to your diet.

Mochi can be prepared using any of the following methods:

  • baking
  • frying
  • waffle iron
  • Panini press
  • as dumplings in soups
  • pizza!

Wake Up, Fill Up, Energize

For breakfast, you could enjoy Vanilla Pecan or Cinnamon Raisin waffles topped with whatever your heart desires. This could be coconut oil and agave syrup, freshly sliced bananas and chopped nuts, or strawberries and whipped cream. You could smear your favorite nut butter over your mochi waffle while it’s hot and discover the flavor in each little nook. Shall we continue?

Load Up On Nutrients At Lunch Time

When lunch rolls around, you could feast on your favorite soup with Toasted Sesame or Plain and Tasty mochi dumplings.

If soup isn’t your cup of tea, you could make use of Toasted Sesame or Plain and Tasty mochi as a “bun” for your veggie, bean, or mushroom burger. Simply cut the mochi to the size of “bun” you prefer and then use a Panini press to cook it.

 

Savory Supper Mochi

You know after a long day at work when you want to rush home, kick off your shoes, toss on your comfortable, well-worn clothes and just crash? But there’s still that problem of finding something good to eat, right?

Take our Plain and Tasty mochi and use as much as you need to prepare a quick-and-easy pizza “crust”. Smear on your favorite tomato sauce and add your choice of veggies and vegan cheese. Bake until done and then sit back, relax, and let this healthful pizza hit the spot.

Mochi Pizza

We don’t know many people who don’t love pizza in one form or another, do you? The great thing about our pizza is that you don’t have to feel guilty for indulging.

Everyone loves pizza, right? Okay, maybe not everyone – but most of us.

Pizza is a fun meal. It’s versatile. If you have a large family with different taste buds and preferences, you can let them build their own pizza.

People of all ages can enjoy it and the crust is a clean slate that can be built upon as you wish. Whether you prefer a two-topping pizza such as mushrooms and black olives or go all out with a loaded, everything-you-can-find-in-the-kitchen type pizza, you will love the healthy choice of mochi pizza “crust” as your base.

Mochi Pizza Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 package Harvest Moon Mochi Organic Plain & Tasty package
  • 1 jar of farm fresh tomato basil pasta sauce
  • 1 package veggie Mozzarella shreds
  • add your favorite toppings

Cooking instructions:

  1. Using a sharp knife and a cutting board, cut Harvest Moon Mochi into 4 equal squares (one cut in each direction).
  2. Add very little Organic olive oil to pan.
  3. Place Harvest Moon Mochi squares onto a half-size baking sheet.  Make sure to place the 4 mini-Mochi pizzas 2-3 inches apart on baking sheet.
  4. Add a spoonful of the pizza sauce of your choice to each mini-Mochi pizza.
  5. Next, add a large spoonful of veggie cheese to each mini-Mochi pizza.
  6. Then top with all of your favorate vegetables.  Be careful not to overload the mini-Mochi pizzas.
  7. Use an oven mit to take baking sheet out of the oven.  Let cool for 2-3 minutes.  Then use a flat spatula to transfer mini-Mochi pizzas to a plate.  Enjoy.

Harvest Moon Mochi Afternoon Dessert/Snack

With summertime here and the sunshine only getting brighter and hotter, we all need a refreshing mid-afternoon treat. But you don’t have to sacrifice your waistline – or health – to enjoy a sweet sensation such as a decadent parfait.

By creating your summer parfait and using Harvest Moon Mochi strips or squares for dipping, you are getting a nutrient-dense snack that will keep you satiated so you will have the energy for summer activities or chores and also allow you to indulge your sweet tooth without feeling guilty.

Bring out your best parfait (or wine) glasses for this special recipe – you’ll want it to shine!

Berry Harvest Moon Mochi Parfait

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 cups of blueberries (and/or strawberries, blackberries, or other favorite berry)
  • Mochi strips for dipping (Vanilla Pecan would be perfect)
  • 2 scoops of your favorite vegan ice cream (or yogurt)
  • Vegan whipped cream
  • Handful of pecans, chopped
  • Agave or preferred syrup for drizzle garnish
  • A few sprinkles of shredded coconut for garnish (optional)

Directions:

  1. Place a few berries in the bottom of your parfait glass.
  2. Next, add a few pieces of chopped mochi waffle.
  3. Add a few nuts.
  4. Put a scoop of your favorite vegan ice cream (or yogurt) on top of that.
  5. Repeat the above process.
  6. Add (vegan) whipped cream on top.
  7. Garnish with a few chopped pecans.
  8. Drizzle with agave or syrup of choice.
  9. Dig in and enjoy!

Note: You can mix-and match the ingredients as your taste buds wish.

This parfait is a tasty summer treat that will make you – and your guests – smile as you savor each healthful bite. Enjoy alongside the swimming pool or lake. We are Drew and Seth Carson, two brothers on a mission to create the most delicious, satiating, healthful snack possible. With deep-rooted core values and a burning passion for healthy living and food production motivating us, we joined forces and began our journey in to the natural food industry.

Tired of long and brutal Northeast winters, we made our way to Boulder, Colorado and purchased a local established and branded business: Harvest Moon Mochi Company.  As a two-man team, we have been pouring our heart and soul into making mochi for nearly a year now, tweaking and improving our mochi every step of the way.
